SlaveGarden: A Chris Cornell Tribute
SlaveGarden is a powerhouse tribute band dedicated to honoring the legacy of Chris Cornell while raising awareness for suicide prevention. This four-piece rock group, composed of seasoned professionals with extensive stage and studio experience, delivers electrifying performances that capture the raw emotion and musical brilliance of Cornell’s works.
The band is fronted by award-winning vocalist Dennis Hirschauer, winner of the 2024 Big Break Vocal Competition at Dirty Nelly’s, whose commanding voice pays heartfelt tribute to Cornell’s legendary sound. Guitarist and vocalist Jack Lazor, who contributed to the Movie soundtrack for Miles Copeland of The Police, brings masterful musicianship and deep passion to every performance. Lazor has also opened for Mötley Crüe, Autograph (at the Limelight Theater MTV Party), Pick Axe, Manowar, Helix, L.A. Guns, Badlands, and more. Holding down the groove is bassist Eddie Witzke, alongside drummer Michael Ray, whose dynamic percussion provides the heartbeat of SlaveGarden’s sound. Together, they recreate the magic of Soundgarden, Audioslave, Temple of the Dog, and Cornell’s unforgettable solo catalog.
The members of SlaveGarden draw from a wide spectrum of musical influences—rock, jazz, metal, punk, country, and beyond. Their individual and collective experiences have taken them to stages across the United States and Europe, performing for diverse audiences who share a love for the raw, powerful music of the 90s grunge era.
Chris Cornell’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (2023) underscored the lasting impact of his artistry, but it was not just his musical genius that inspired SlaveGarden. His tragic passing, along with the loss of so many other great artists, fueled the band’s mission to use their platform to raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention.
“If one life is saved by our music and message, every show has been worthwhile.”
SlaveGarden continues to captivate audiences with hard-hitting rock anthems and emotionally charged ballads, delivering performances that resonate deeply with fans of all ages.
